Capacity Building Workshop: Renewable Energy Zoning in the Southern African Power Pool

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) held a workshop in partnership with the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) on renewable energy zoning. Conducted as part of IRENA’s Africa Clean Energy Corridor initiative, the workshop highlighted the results of a Renewable Energy Zoning exercise, as well as providing training for government ministry officials, academics, and staff at utilities and regulators on the renewable energy zoning process, empowering them to carry on further zoning activities in their countries. IRENA presented a practitioners’ guide for integrating renewables into the power grid.
