East and Southeast Asia Renewable Energy Statistics Workshop

In collaboration with the Asia Pacific Energy Research Centre (APERC), IRENA organised a three-day workshop on renewable energy statistics. The training aimed at helping countries to collect, validate and analyse renewable energy statistics, following current best practices and internationally agreed definitions and methodologies used for energy statistics. Topics covered included: the classification and structure of renewable energy statistics; the construction of energy balances; the institutional framework for data collection; strategies and methodologies for data collection; and procedures for data validation and estimation. Training sessions comprised presentations from countries, practical exercises and presentations from IRENA, APERC and other international experts. Energy statisticians from seven countries in the region participated in the training.

Copies of the country presentations are available below and copies of IRENA presentations and training materials can be found here.
