Leveraging Industry's Role for Accelerating Green Hydrogen Development

The webinar titled “Leveraging Industry's Role for Accelerating Green Hydrogen Development” will be organized by the Mediterranean Green Electrons and Molecules (MED-GEM) Network in partnership with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The webinar will be held on the 29th of April 2024 between 14:00 – 16:00 (Abu Dhabi, GMT+4).

Green Hydrogen is a key element in the transition towards a sustainable and low-carbon energy future. As nations strive to decarbonize their economies and mitigate climate change, green hydrogen offers a versatile and clean energy carrier with the potential to revolutionize various sectors, in particular the hard-to-abate ones.

The industry's active involvement is critical for realizing the full potential of green hydrogen as a clean and sustainable energy carrier. Industry actors are responsible for the bulk of investments in production and conversion, infrastructure, R&D, and job creation. Industry players create markets and engage in collaboration and partnerships and can accelerate the development and widespread adoption of hydrogen technologies, contributing to the transition towards a more sustainable energy future.

However, Industry stakeholders involved in the development of green hydrogen face several challenges unique to their roles and responsibilities. Addressing these challenges requires collaboration, innovation, and strategic planning among industry stakeholders, governments, research institutions, and other key actors. By overcoming these challenges, industry stakeholders can unlock the full potential of green hydrogen as a clean and sustainable energy solution and contribute to the global transition to a low-carbon economy.

The event aims to discuss the challenges that the industry players are facing for green hydrogen development as well as solution pathways.

Meeting participation is by invitation only.
