Workshop organised under the Collaborative Framework on Green Hydrogen.

IRENA conducted a series of three workshops to explore the topics related to the use of the natural gas grid to deliver hydrogen (midstream infrastructure).

A joint Webinar organised by FGV Energia and IRENA on the 17 October 2020 at 2pm (Brazilian time), covered the topic of The role in the Energy Transition on the Brazilian context.

The event presented the key findings for IRENA report “Green hydrogen supply: A guide to policy making” which examines the policies needed to support the production and transportation of green hydrogen.

Following the IRENA’s 2019 report ‘Hydrogen: A renewable energy perspective’, this webinar will provide a more in-depth perspective on hydrogen’s strategic considerations, its nexus with renewable energy, its economics and trade.

A first virtual workshop, organised by the PtX Hub in collaboration with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), took place on 28 April 2022.

This session of the Policy Talks 2022 provided insights from IRENA and its associates on the most relevant issues related to green hydrogen.

The side event gathered public and private stakeholders to discuss key opportunities and challenges in scaling up green hydrogen, focusing on policies for the supply side of green hydrogen.

GREF 2019  focused on pathways towards carbon-neutrality by 2050, analysing the current status of renewable energy policies and decarbonisation pathways from different perspectives and highlight the role of hydrogen and power-to-x pathways — focusing on improving the understanding of hydrogen ‘as a low-carbon technology option’ and analysing the existing barriers and solutions needed to accelerate its deployment. 

The meeting discussed the latest developments in hydrogen and its derivatives from the demand perspective, and addressed the opportunities and challenges for developing countries to become potential hydrogen and derivates producers.

The 8th Collaborative Framework on Green Hydrogen meeting focuses on taking stock of global green hydrogen deployment after years of strategy development and project announcements.
