A high-level platform for the launch of IRENA's Renewable Energy Outlook for Egypt. Building on global developments in renewable energy, the event brought together key decision makers and leaders from governments, industry, financial institutions and other key stakeholders in the Arab world, to exchange information on the latest renewable energy developments in the region and to discuss a way forward.
As part of the 7th Power and Energy Infrastructure Cluster (PEIC) of the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), IRENA organised a regional project facilitation technical training workshop in Brunei Darussalam focusing on the development of bankable solar energy projects in the region.

The event’s exhibition and conference both focus on the areas of photovoltaics, solar thermal technologies, solar plants, as well as grid infrastructure and solutions for the integration of renewable energy. Since being founded 27 years ago, Intersolar has become the most important industry platform for manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, service providers and partners of the solar industry.
The workshop featured the methodology used to develop the simulator and demonstrate how the tool could be utilised by homeowners, investors, and project developers to assess the rooftop solar PV potential in Bamako.
The event aimed to increased awareness of the role of women in decentralized renewable energy and explored ways to increase their involvement in the industry.
The session covered presentations on methodology for developing the IRENA’s SolarCity simulator with a demonstration.
