The Energy Transition Accelerator Financing (ETAF) hosted an informative webinar in Spanish to share insights on the platform's critical assessment requirements, enhancing the chances for project developers and stakeholders from Latin America to obtain funding.
As part of the 7th Power and Energy Infrastructure Cluster (PEIC) of the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), IRENA organised a regional project facilitation technical training workshop in Brunei Darussalam focusing on the development of bankable solar energy projects in the region.

Joint International Conference organized by the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Savings of Ukraine and co-hosted by IRENA, took place on 21 February 2019 in Kyiv. The event brought together representatives of the governmental authorities, parliament, international organizations, as well as financial and business sectors, to contribute to the ongoing efforts to create an auctions-based support scheme for renewable energy in Ukraine.
MOEJ and IRENA organised a three-day training program to support the development of project proposals to access climate finance by SIDS stakeholders through various entities including local banks and climate finance entities.

IRENA, in collaboration with EACREEE, and SACREEE, has organised a two day capacity building workshop to share IRENA’s framework and insights regarding renewable energy auctions, and considerations, best practices, lessons learnt and specific case studies, with a focus on the Sub-Saharan Africa context.
This virtual event aimed to encourage all governments of the region towards more ambitious climate action driven by energy transition.
With the support of IRENA, Ministry of Energy and Industry undertook a Renewable Readiness Assessment (RRA) for the Kyrgyz Republic.
The third IRENA Innovation Week – a virtual gathering of leading policy makers, innovators, developers and investors from across IRENA’s diverse global membership – convened to explore how systemic innovative solutions can support the use of renewables in the energy-end-use sectors of buildings, transport & industry.
This side-event at the Global SDG 7 Conference in Bangkok, marked the regional launch of IRENA's Southeast Asia Market Analysis, and presented its findings. A panel discussed measures to scale renewable energy deployment to meet national and regional goals, and targets associated with SDG 7.
In the framework of the implementation of the West Africa Clean Energy Corridor (WACEC), which was validated, adopted and endorsed by the countries of the West Africa region in 2016 – 2017, IRENA has launched a capacity building programme in the region in collaboration with relevant stakeholders of the ECOWAS power sector (ECREEE, WAPP, ERERA and GIZ).
The Regional Workshop on Accelerating RE Investments in Southeast Asia shared experiences in setting more market-based renewable energy support schemes. The workshop was part of the implementation of ASEAN-IRENA MoU and Action Plan.
